Million Mask March in Washington (+Photos)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Hundreds of anti-government protesters, wearing Vendetta masks, held anti-government demonstrations in the US capital Washington on November 5.
According to Tasnim dispatches, demonstrators marched throughout the city from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday as they blocked some streets, protesting against the US government policies.
Demonstrators also held signs that read “We March against Torture” or “We march against $ in Politics.”
The rally, organized by a group called Anonymous, is referred to as the Million Mask March, in which the participants hide their faces to protect their identities.
The Wednesday’s rally in Washington coincided with the Guy Fawkes day, an annual celebration that started centuries ago in Britain upon an unsuccessful attempt by the date’s namesake to blow up the British Parliament as part of the Gunpowder Treason Plot on November 5, 1605.
The Anonymous movement has attracted much attention over the last several years after virtual activities on the Internet.
