Saudi Arabia Out of Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia's national football team was knocked out of the 2015 AFC Asian Cup after being defeated by Uzbekistan 3-1 on Sunday.
Uzbekistan qualified for the quarter-final of the Asian Cup as runners-up of Group B.
Sardor Rashidov opened the Saudi Arabia’s goal just after 90 seconds.
Mohammed Al-Sahlawi converted a penalty in the 60th minute to draw level 1-1.
Uzbekistan’s Vokhid Shodiev powered a header into the net in the 70th minute and Rashidov made it 3-1 with 11 minutes left.
The win gave Uzbekistan second place in the group, and a quarter-final clash with Group A winners South Korea.
