Russian Defense Minister in Iran for Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russian Defense Minister General Sergei Shoigu is in Iran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials on ways to promote bilateral defense ties between Moscow and Tehran.
Shoigu is to hold a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Dehqan. Expansion of bilateral defense relations as well as issues related to regional and global security are expected to be discussed in the meeting.
“While in Tehran Shoigu will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Dehgan,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
Also, a technical-military cooperation agreement is also to be reviewed during the talks between the two defense ministers, the defense ministry spokesman announced.
The Russian defense minister is heading a delegation of senior officials.
