Iran, Malaysia Discuss Closer Parliamentary Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of Malaysia’s Parliament Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, who is in Tehran for an official visit, held a meeting with head of Iran-Malaysia parliamentary friendship group on Wednesday.
The Iranian lawmaker, Mohammad Mahdi Zahedi, and the visiting Malaysian speaker in a meeting in Tehran discussed the status of relations between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur.
They both emphasized the necessity for expansion of bilateral ties between the two Muslim nations.
Back in August 2014, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the great role Iran and Malaysia have in the Muslim world.
Also in a message to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, the Iranian president described the new atmosphere of bilateral ties as positive, and expressed optimism that the new capacities would lead to the promotion of relations in various spheres.
