Iran to Fight for Greco-Roman World Cup Third-Place

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran defeated Germany and will play Turkey on Friday at the Greco-Roman World Cup third-fourth place match.

The Iranian wrestling team defeated Germany 7-1 on Thursday at the Azadi Sport Complex.

Team Iran began the campaign with a 6-2 defeat to Azerbaijan in Group A.

Iran beat Sweden 6-2 in its second match.

At the end of Day One, Russia and Azerbaijan advanced to the final match, scheduled for Friday.

Iran, who has lifted four of the last five Greco-Roman World Cups, is scheduled to play Turkey prior to the final match.
