Iranians Quite Confident of Armed Forces’ Response to Enemy: Top Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Findings of a survey shows that the majority of Iranians are confident that enemies will receive an proper response from the country’s Armed Forces, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said.

Speaking in a conference in Tehran on Monday, the top officer said the Intelligence Ministry has conducted a survey all over the country.

“According to the poll, 84 percent of the Iranian nation said ‘we are confident that the country’s military forces make a firm response to enemies of the country and the (Islamic) Revolution’,” the general added.

Iran’s military officials say any threat to the country will be doomed to failure since the Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the country and their missiles are capable enough to rain down on any target at any distance.

In November 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of the political developments.

“Our Armed Forces should increase their preparedness constantly regardless of the political calculations, and should do the strategic planning by identifying their own shortcomings and also by studying the enemy’s possibilities and weaknesses,” Imam Khamenei had announced.
