AFC Champions League: Iran’s Persepolis Defeats Lekhwiya
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Persepolis of Iran defeated Qatari Lekhwiya 3-0 here in Tuesday’s AFC Champions League Group A opener.
Following a goalless first half at the Azadi Stadium, Persepolis defender Mohsen Bengar headed home on the 60th minute.
Six minutes later, Gabriel’s cross was back-heeled into the path of Hadi Norozi by Mehdi Taremi and he found the back of the net.
With six minutes remaining, Persepolis captain Mohammad Nouri was hauled back by Mohamed Musa inside the penalty area.
He converted his penalty kick to give Persepolis football team a promising 3-0 victory over its powerful opponent.
