Iran's Shooters Heading for ISSF World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian delegation left Tehran on Tuesday to take part at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle/Pistol).
The competitions will be held at Changwon, South Korea on April 8-16.
Iran will compete in the event with 12 shooters.
"We can win places in Rio (2016 Olympics) following the records we have registered in the previous events," Iranian woman shooter Narjes Emamgholinejad said.
According to the last update regarding quota places for Asian countries shared by Asian Shooting Federation (ASF), six countries have won 21 places.
China earned 11 places, South Korea five, Vietnam two, India one, Democratic People's Republic of Korea one, and Taiwan one.
There are 710 athletes in 30 Asian countries who have achieved Minimum Qualifying Scores (MQS), the basic requirement for earning quota places for Rio Olympics.
