Ayatollah Khamenei Appreciates Iranian Nuclear Negotiators’ Efforts

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei commended the Iranian team of nuclear negotiators for their efforts in the diplomatic talks with the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

In a meeting with the cabinet members in Tehran on Tuesday evening, Imam Khamenei thanked the negotiating team for its “sincere, serious” efforts in the nuclear talks that came to a conclusion earlier in the day in Austria.

The Leader also appreciated the administration members for their hard work and wished them good luck.

Elsewhere in the meeting, President Hassan Rouhani expressed gratitude to the Supreme Leader for his supports and guidance, and hoped that conclusion of the nuclear talks would prepare the ground for an end to the “pressures and false allegations” the enemies make against Iran.

The meeting came after Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as the P5+1 or E3+3) concluded more than two weeks of intensive talks over Tehran's nuclear program in Vienna.

The negotiating parties reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on the nuclear issue after 22 months of talks.

In a joint statement, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, who has been coordinating diplomacy with Iran on behalf of the six powers, and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, referred to Tuesday as "an historic day".
