Nuclear Conclusion Can End Regional Issues: Iran’s FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the recent nuclear conclusion reached between Tehran and world powers as a possible means to facilitate the resolution of ongoing issues in the Middle East.

What accomplished in recent nuclear talks can be the beginning of an end to regional problems, Zarif said in a Monday meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari in Baghdad.

Zarif further explained the common dangers threatening the entire region, particularly terrorism and extremism, and called for cooperation among regional states including Iran and Iraq to end the crisis.

“Currently, the best thing to do is holding a regional dialog to clear up the misunderstandings,” he proposed.

Jaafari, for his part, hailed the nuclear conclusion as a “certain victory” for Iran, saying that it would have positive effects and impacts on the entire world.

The nuclear conclusion would definitely have a great influence on Iraq and other countries in the region, the Iraqi minister added.

The remarks came as Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 concluded more than two weeks of intensive nuclear talks in Vienna.

The negotiations resulted in a comprehensive 159-page document known as JCPOA on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
