Iran’s Deputy FM: Nuclear Deal Outcome of Nation’s Resistance
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi referred to the recent conclusion of nuclear talks between Tehran and world powers as a great achievement and valuable experience for the country and the outcome of the Iranian nation’s resistance.
The nuclear deal is a landmark accomplishment in the history of Islamic Republic of Iran and an achievement for all Shiites in the world, Araqchi said, addressing the closing ceremony of IRTVU (Islamic Radios and TVs Union) Summit held in Tehran on Tuesday.
Whether the deal is approved or not, it is a “valuable experience” that can be used to stand against the most powerful in the world, he added.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.
The 159-page deal has its own opponents and proponents both in Iran and the other countries that are parties to the JCPOA, including the US.
While the United Nations Security Council has adopted a resolution to endorse the deal, the text of the document needs to be ratified by both Iran's Parliament and the US Congress.
