Iran’s Defense Doctrine Focused on Countering Aerial Threats: Armed Forces
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Armed Forces General Staff said the country’s defensive strategies are focused on tackling aerial threats, and hailed the Air Defense’s strong performance in protecting the country’s airspace.
The Air Defense’s great capabilities, its updated equipment and skilled experts have raised Iran’s deterrent power to such level that the enemies and ultra-regional arrogant powers would face serious difficulties if they dared take an aggressive action against the country, the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff said in a statement on the occasion of the Air Defense Day.
It also praised the Air Defense’s successful protection of the country’s airspace.
Back on Saturday, a number of Iran’s homegrown air defense systems, including upgraded radars and electronic warfare equipment, were unveiled in Tehran.
Commander of Iran’s Air Defense Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili has also announced that his forces will stage drills in autumn to exercise practical tactics all over the country’s airspace.
Iran has in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of military equipment, including the air defense systems that use cutting edge technologies.
Tehran has repeatedly stated that its military power is defensive in nature and poses no threat to other countries.
