Nuclear Deal Opens New Page in Tehran-Prague Ties: Czech FM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Czech Republic’s Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek hailed the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, saying it signals the beginning of a new era in his country’s relations with Iran.
“This agreement opens a new chapter in the ties between the Czech Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Zaorálek said during a session in Isfahan, central Iran, on Saturday, referring to the July-14 conclusion of the nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.
The comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
The Czech foreign minister further expressed the hope that major strides will be taken in the near future for the development of bilateral relations between Tehran and Prague.
He said while Iran and the Czech Republic enjoy long-standing and positive relations, the trade exchanges between the two states are not at a desirable level.
He underlined that the two countries’ traders and business people ought to work for enhancing mutual cooperation.
Zaorálek, who is accompanied by a 70-strong delegation of Czech traders and economic activists, arrived in Isfahan on Friday.
He is scheduled to hold consultations with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and meet with Minister of Economic Affairs Ali Tayebnia and Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh.
Zaoralek, who is due to stay in Iran until September 7, will be also received by President Hassan Rouhani and Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani.
The meetings will focus on bilateral relations, further development of economic cooperation, current international policy issues in the region and the fight against terrorism.
