Iran Beaten by Brazil in FIVB U-21 World Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Brazil defeated Iran in straight sets (25-11, 25-18 and 25-21) in the FIVB Men’s U-21 World Championship on Sunday.

Douglas Souza scored 15 points for Brazil to finish as leading attacker, while Caio Oliveira finished with 11.

Robert Araujo also contributed with 9 points for Brazil that showed a dominating blocking game by imposing clearly in front of the net, fivb.org wrote.

Rahman Taghizadeh was the top scorer with 11 tallies for Iran and Akbar Valei finished with 5.

“I feel good about my team performance against Iran,” Leonardo Carvalho, coach of Brazil, said.

“We can even do things much better and must improve our game strategies.”

Iran lost to China 3-1 in the first day of the competition.

Farhad Nafarzadeh's boys will Play Cuba on Monday.

The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship is being held in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico and will finish on September 20.
