IWBF Asia-Oceania Championship: Iran Loses to Australia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Australia 83-56 in its second match in the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia-Oceania Championship.

On Sunday, in the match held at Chiba, Japan, Morteza Ebrahimi led Iran with 23 points.

Ness Brad scored 16 points for the Australian team.

Iran is scheduled to face the Philippines on Monday.

The Championship is being held at the Chiba Port Arena, Japan from October 7 to 18.

Iran has been drawn in Group A along with Australia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Chinese Taipei.

Group B consists of host Japan, China, Afghanistan, South Korea, Thailand and the UAE.

There are twelves men’s teams competing for three spots and three women’s teams competing for one spot to Rio 2016.
