President: Iran Welcomes Closer Cooperation with Denmark
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that the country is willing to boost cooperation with Denmark in all political and economic spheres.
Speaking Tuesday in a meeting with the new ambassador of Denmark to Tehran, Danny Annan, Rouhani described the relations between the Islamic Republic and the Scandinavian country as “good and historical” and expressed the hope for closer cooperation between the two countries in various economic and cultural fields.
“Tehran welcomes promotion of cooperation and relations with Copenhagen in all areas,” the Iranian president noted.
He further pointed to Iran’s excellent conditions for business and the country’s educated manpower, saying that the Islamic Republic is located at the center of a large market in the Middle East and this can be used as an opportunity to boost investment and economic ties between the two countries.
The Danish envoy, for his part, hailed Tehran-Copenhagen ties as “age-old” and said his country’s officials are resolved to boost the bilateral relations in all spheres.
There has been a new wave of interest among different countries, especially Europeans, in ties with Iran after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.
The comprehensive nuclear deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
That is expected to result in a hike in Iran’s trade and bilateral relations with different states, including European countries like Denmark.
