FIVB Club World Championship: Paykan Overpowers UPCN San Juan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Paykan of Iran swept past Argentina’s UPCN San Juan 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-22) in the FIVB Men’s Club World Championship.
Paykan topped Pool B with the win and will play Pool A second team on Friday.
Iranian opposite Amir Ghafour scored 15 points for Paykan, while UPCN’s Todor Aleksiev gave his side the same amount.
However, the Asian team also had great outputs in middle-blockers Saman Faezi (13) and Nikolay Nikolov, the latter with a tournament-high of six stuff blocks.
Paykan has already defeated Ahly of Egypt in the tournament.
The 2015 FIVB Men’s Club World Championship has brought a total of world’s six teams in Betim, Brazil from October 27 to 31.
