Swiss President Starts Iran Visit

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Switzerland’s President Johann Schneider-Ammann started an official visit to Tehran on Friday evening.

Heading a high-ranking political, economic and scientific delegation, Schneider-Ammann plans to hold talks with senior Iranian officials and sign agreements in different fields.

Upon his arrival at Tehran Mehrabad Airport, the Swiss president was welcomed by Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh.

His visit comes at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani, and the two sides are scheduled to discuss ways to improve mutual, regional and international relations.

Earlier reports said that Tehran and Berne will sign agreements in the fields of economy, banking cooperation, politics and culture.
