Iran’s President: Cabinet Steadfast in Pursuit of Resistance Economy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing the “Resistance Economy” plan, an initiative that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has announced in 2014.
The administration will make every effort to carry out the policies of Resistance Economy, as emphasized by the Leader, President Rouhani told IRIB during a visit to the southern island of Kish on Monday.
His comments came after Imam Khamenei on Sunday named the new Persian year “Year of Resistance Economy: Action and Implementation.”
Back in 2014, Ayatollah Khamenei had sent a proclamation to heads of Iran’s branches of power and outlined general policies to boost the country’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities under a grand plan, dubbed Resistance Economy.
Elsewhere in his comments, President Rouhani said he is going to have a meeting with heads of Iran's Free Trade Zones on Tuesday to study and finalize plans in conformity with the Article 11 of the Resistance Economy policies, which highlights the role of FTZs in strengthening the economy by attracting technology and investment and stimulating the production and exports.
The president also inaugurated a number of development projects, including a wastewater treatment plant and a hotel, on the island of Kish.
