Iran’s Khodabakhshi Takes Bronze at World Taekwondo President's Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Mehdi Khodabakhshi took a bronze medal at the World Taekwondo President's Cup on Friday.

The Iranian -87kg representative lost to Spaniard Daniel Ros Gomez in the tournament’s semi-final and earned a bronze medal.

Iran has participated in the tournament with three taekwondokas, namely Farzan Ashourzadeh in -63kg, Mehdi Khodabakhshi in -87kg and Sajjad Mardani in +87kg.

The first edition of the World Taekwondo President's Cup began in Bonn on Thursday.

More than 1,500 athletes compete at the event, which is sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) but is organized by the ETU.
