Volleyball Player Shahram Mahmoudi to Quit after Rio 2016

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian opposite hitter Shahram Mahmoudi says that he will retire after the 2016 Rio de Janeiro.

Iran volleyball team has not secured its place in the Olympics and has been scheduled to participate in the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Tokyo.

“I have made up my mind that I will retire after the Rio Games if our team qualifies for the event. I am suffering from the long-term injury and I think it’s time to go,” the 27-year-old said.

“I like to participate at Rio 2016 since I think to compete at the Olympic Games is every athlete's dream,” he added.
