Iran Beats Venezuela 1-0 in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Team Melli (the Iranian national football team) defeated Venezuela in a friendly match on Monday as part of its preparation for the 2018 World Cup.
Iran national football team stretched its unbeaten run to 10 matches.
Team Melli’s last defeat was a 1-0 reversal against Iraq in a friendly in March.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh was on target in the 57th minute after receiving a pass from Vahid Amiri at the Goffertstadion in Nijmegen in Netherlands.
On Thursday, Iran had edged past Panama 2-1 in a friendly match held in Austria.
Iran will be playing in its fifth World Cup next year in Russia.
