Hamed Haddadi Absent for Crucial Match against Qatar
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national basketball team captain Hamed Haddadi will be absent for the match against Qatar at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers.
The Iranian team, headed by Mehran Hatami, needs to bounce back when it hosts the Persian Gulf country at the Azadi Gym in Tehran on Monday.
Team Melli lost its first match to Iraq 74-66 on Friday in Amman, Jordan.
Haddadi was absent for Iraq match but he was expected to accompany Iran in the match against Qatar.
The Iranian iconic center has reportedly returned to China to join his club Sichuan Blue Whales.
