No Country Dares to Launch Attack on Iranian Soil: Top Army General
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A high-ranking Iranian commander and former Army Ground Force chief highlighted the Islamic Republic’s growing military power and said enemies lack the courage to make an act of aggression against Iranian soil.
“The enemies should be aware that Iran’s Armed forces will never be surprised,” Brigadier General Pourdastan, who heads Iranian Army's Strategic Studies Center, said in a speech in the northeastern province of North Khorasan on Thursday evening.
“Today, thanks God, with the efforts of the youths of the country, we have achieved very advanced defensive means so that no country dares to invade the country,” he added.
The top commander further referred to threats imposed against Iran and said the first threat is proxy wars.
Since a long time ago, the enemies have sought to drag wars in the region to the country, he said, adding that however, all of their plots have been foiled through the bravery and sacrifice of the Armed Forces under the leadership of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Ayatollah Khamenei has repeatedly stressed the need for strengthening the country’s military power and called on the Armed Forces to maintain a high level of preparedness.
Addressing a group of people in Tehran on February, the Leader said, “Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it.”
Describing plans to develop and renovate Iran’s defense strategies and equipment as a top priority, the Leader said while nukes and weapons of mass destruction are deemed Haram (religiously forbidden), the Islamic Republic will “vigorously” keep gaining whatever else it may need for defense.
Ayatollah Khamenei then took a swipe at the enemies that threaten humanity with their arms but still oppose Iran’s missile power, saying the adversaries seek to disarm the Iranian nation to bully it.
