US-UK-France Strike on Syria Leaves 3 Wounded in Homs
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Three civilians were injured in the Syrian central province of Homs after a US-led strike on the Arab country over alleged use of chemical weapons by the government near Damascus.
SANA news agency said three civilians were wounded in the US-led missile attack on a military base in Homs.
It added the attack was aborted by derailing the incoming missile.
The report further said another attack with “a number of missiles” targeting a scientific research center destroyed a building and caused other material damage but no human losses. The building in the research center included an educational center and labs.
At least six loud explosions were heard in Damascus in the early hours of Saturday and smoke was seen rising over the Syrian capital, a witness said. A second witness said the Barzah district of Damascus had been hit in the strikes. Barzah is the location of a major Syrian scientific research center.
Syrian air defenses managed to shoot down 13 missiles fired in the US-led attack on the country on Saturday, Syrian state TV said. The missiles had been shot down in the Kiswah area south of the capital Damascus, it said.
