Paykan Ready for Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Paykan coach Mitra Shabanian says her team is ready to get good results in the 2018 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship.

The Iranian team will start the competition with a match against Kazakhstan’s Altay in Pool B on Wednesday.

Paykan will also face CMFC from Chinese Taipei on Thursday.

“I hope we can play well in this competition. My team are ready as we have good players and we hope to get good results,” Shabanian said.

Maedeh Borhani Esfahani, captain of Paykan, said “I am so happy to be back here again in Kazakhstan. We are here to try our best as a team.”

The 2018 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship will be the 19th edition of the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, an international volleyball club tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with the Volleyball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (VFRK).

It is scheduled to be held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan from July 11 to 18.

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship with the champion qualifying for the World Championship.
