Iran Olympic Football Team Loses to Iraq in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran Olympic football team lost to Iraq 2-1 in a friendly match in Erbil as part of preparation for the 2018 Asian Games.
Mehdi Ghaedi gave the visitors the lead just four minutes into the match but Muhammad Jassim and Jalal Ahmed scored for Iraq in 50th and 94th minutes respectively.
The Iran U-23 football team will also take on China Olympic team in a warm-up game on August 9.
Iran has been drawn with Myanmar, North Korea and Saudi Arabia in Group F of the 2018 Asian Games.
