Alireza Beiranvand Named ACL Player of the Week
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand was named Player of the Week of first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-final after his shining performance against Al Sadd.
The Iran international pulled off an impressive six saves to keep his side in the match in Doha, securing a clean sheet and giving teammate Ali Alipour the platform to dispatch an 86th-minute spot-kick for the game's only goal.
Beiranvand's 100 percent save success rate, three duels won and 25 successful passes all earned him a weekly high mark of 7.7.
Persepolis football team will meet the Qatari team on October 23 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in the second leg.
