Iran into FIBA U-18 Women's Asian C’ship Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran booked a place at the FIBA U-18 Women's Asian Championship 2018 semi-final.
The Iranian girls beat Guam 98-55 in Bengaluru, India on Tuesday.
Fatemeh Ghazvini led the Iranian team with 28 points and Guam’s Mia San Nicolas scored 21 points.
Iran started the competition with a 73-65 loss to host India and beat Singapore 70-53 in its second match.
The 2018 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
The tournament is also the 24th edition of the biennial competition. The tournament is being held in Bangalore, India from October 28 to November 3.
The top four teams will represent FIBA Asia in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Thailand.
