Esteghlal Crushes Sepidrood, Padideh Draws Machine Sazi in IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal pummeled Sepidrood Rasht football team 5-0 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Farshid Bagheri scored twice in the 12th and 34th minutes.
Jaber Ansari scored the third goal in the 57th minute and Sepidrood midfielder Meysam Tohidast scored an own goal a minute later.
Reza Azari scored Esteghlal’s fifth goal in the 75th minute.
Esteghlal sits fifth in the table with 24 points, six points behind Padideh.
In Mashhad, IPL leader Padideh was held to a 2-2 draw by Machine Sazi.
Amin Ghaseminejhad and Hossein Mehraban were on target in the 3rd and 39th minutes for Padideh.
Peyman Babaei and Mohammad Hossein Kananizadegan scored for Machne Sazi in the 33th and 52nd minutes.
Padideh provisionally moved up to first place with 30 points, one point ahead of Sepahan.
