Iran Parliament Speaker Meets Turkish, Afghan Counterparts in Tehran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani held separate meetings with his Turkish and Afghan counterparts in the capital, Tehran, on Friday, discussing a range of regional and international issues, including ways to combat terrorism.
Speaking at the meeting with Turkish Parliament Speaker Binali Yildirim, Larijani said mutual cooperation to boost security in the Middle East has increased.
He further blamed the US government for insecurity in the region and said Washington’s behavior has created “an international disorder” and the global arena is witnessing turmoil.
In separate talks on the same day, Larijani and Afghan Parliament Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi exchanged views about a range of issues, including ways to promote cooperation in counter-terrorism and the latest developments in the region and the world.
The Turkish and Afghan parliament speakers are in Tehran to attend the second edition of a conference of six regional countries - Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Russia and China- on ways to combat the threat of terrorism. The regional gathering kicked off on Saturday morning.
In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.
The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.
