Iran’s Siamand Rahman A Powerlifter to Watch at World C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Siamand Rahman from Iran is a powerlifter to watch at the World Para Powerlifting World Championships, Paralympic.org reported.
The competitions will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from June 29 to July 6.
Since lifting a world record of 310kg in the men’s over 107kg at Rio 2016, everyone has been waiting for the world’s strongest Paralympian to take it even further.
But Rahman is hoping to target another attack on the world record at either a World Championships or Paralympic Games.
The Iranian easily won the Asia-Oceania Open Championships and Asian Para Games in 2018 but decided to leave the world record lift for another time – could 2019 be his chance?
Rahman will have a busy year and will be looking to claim the world title and set new world records.
