Persepolis Advances to Iran’s Hazfi Cup Semifinals
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team emerged victorious in the match against Padideh in Iran’s Hazfi Cup quarter-finals on Monday.
Branko Ivankovic’s team won on penalties in front of about 20,000 spectators at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
After a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes, Persepolis beat Padideh 4-2 on penalties.
Mohammad Mehdi Mehdikhani scored for Padideh in the 12th minute after escaping offside trap and Ali Mosleh equalized the match in the 20th minute from a corner cross.
Persepolis will play Sepahan in the competition’s semis in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium.
The date of the match has not been announced.
The winner of the game will meet Damash Gilan in the final match.
