Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestlers Win Two Medals at Hungary Event

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reza Khedri and Meysam Dalkhani claimed two medals at the Hungarian Gran Prix Imre Polyak Memorial on Saturday.

Khedri claimed a silver medal in the 55kg weight category.

The gold medal went to Uzbekistan’s Ilkhom Bakhromov and Javokhir Mirakhmedov and Abdelkarim Fergat both claimed a bronze medal.

Also, in 63rd kg weight category, Dalkhani and Sailike Walihan from China won the bronze medal.

Japanese Shinobu Ota took the gold medal and the silver went to Chinese wrestler Erbatu Tuo.

Imre Polyak was a featherweight Greco-Roman wrestler from Hungary.

He competed in the 1952, 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won three silver and one gold medal.

He won the world title in 1955, 1958 and 1962, and placed second in 1961 and 1963. Nationally Polyak won 12 Hungarian titles and was named Sportsman of the Year in 1958 and 1962.
