Persepolis Moves Up Top of IPL Table
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team edged past Sanat Naft in the Iran Professional League (IPL) and moved up to top of the table on Thursday.
The Reds defeated Sanat Naft 1-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium thanks to Ali Alipour’s first-half goal.
Earlier on the day, Esteghlal defeated Foolad 3-1 in Ahvaz’s Ghadir Stadium.
Godwin Mensha, Ayanda Patosi and Esmael Goncalves were on targets for Esteghlal and Hassan Beyt Saeed scored for Foolad.
Furthermore, Pars Jonoubi and Saipa played out a goalless draw in Abadan and Zob Ahan drew 0-0 with Machine Sazi.
Persepolis sits top of the table with 41 points, three points above Sepahan who has two games in hands.
