IPL: Tractor Sazi Defeats Sepahan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi football team earned a great win against Sepahan in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Georges Leekens’s team beat Sepahan 2-0 in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium.
Mehdi Mehdipour gave the host a lead in the 38th minute with a powerful shot and Irish striker Anthony Stokes found the back of the net from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.
Padideh and Paykan played out a goalless draw in Tehran’s Shahr-e Qods Stadium.
Padideh moved up to IPL second place.
Naft Masjed Soleyman earned a late 2-2 draw against Nassaji Mazandaran at home and Sepidrood Rasht lost to visiting Esteghlal Khuzestan 2-1.
Persepolis remains top of the table with 41 points, followed by Padideh with 39 points.
Sepahan is third with 38 points and one game in hand.
