Ali Hashemi Wins Bronze at Asian Weightlifting Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Hashemi from Iran claimed a bronze medal at the 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Saturday.
He finished in third place after lifting 180kg in snatch and 225kg in clean and jerk for a total of 405kg at the 109kg.
Chinese lifter Yang Zhe won the gold medal with 417kg and silver medal went to Akbar Djuraev who lifted 410kg.
Over 460 athletes from 29 countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, India and Iran are participating at the competition, which started April 17 and will last until April 29.
The 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships are being held in Ningbo, China. It’s the 48th men's and 29th women's championship.
