Iranian, Russian Universities Sign MoU
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Sharif University of Technology and Russia’s Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation.
Director of the Sharif University’s public relations, Hadi Parastar, paid a visit to Dmitry Mendeleev University in Moscow and held meetings with its officials.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Iranian and Russian authorities signed a memorandum of understanding to launch mutual cooperation between the two universities.
Founded in 1898 as an industrial college in Moscow, Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology is known as one of the leading chemical universities of Russia. The university trains engineers for applied sciences and industrial needs.
According to t website, Dmitry Mendeleev University has around 8,000 students from 35 countries.
Iran and Russia have formed a strong alliance in recent years by diversifying the business ties and broadening the political, economic, academic and military cooperation.
In October 2017, the two countries held the third joint conference of top Iranian and Russian universities in Moscow.
The first and second editions of the academic event had been held in the Central Library in Lomonosov Moscow State University and in the University of Tehran, respectively.
