Iran U-23 Football Team Suffers Second Loss against Uzbekistan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-23 football team was defeated against Uzbekistan in a friendly match at the Pakhtakor Central Stadium in Tashkent on Monday.
Iran, who had lost to Uzbekistan 1-0 on Friday, was defeated against the Central Asian team 4-1 this time.
Mehdi Ghaedi scored the only goal of Iran.
Iran, headed by Farhad Majidi, prepares for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship which will be held in Thailand from January 8 to 26.
The top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics men's football tournament in Japan as the AFC representatives.
