IJF Suspends Iran Judo from All Competitions
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The International Judo Federation suspended Iran Judo Federation from all competitions, administrative and social activities organized or authorized by International Judo Federation and its Unions.
A judoka from Iran Saeid Mollaei (-81kg) allegedly threw a bout in the 2019 World Championships in Tokyo to avoid a potential contest against an Israeli athlete, ijf.org said.
Iran Judo Federation and NPC have yet to react to this news.
Iran had already accused the IJF of trying to “create problems” with Mollaei and said will send a protest letter to the International Olympic Committee.
