Iran Earns Successive Win at FIVB World Cup after Beating Argentina
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national volleyball team earned its second win in a row in the second phase of round-robin play of the FIVB World Cup on Friday.
After a 3-0 win over Tunisia on Thursday, Igor Kolakovic’s team beat Argentina 3-2 (25-27, 25-23, 25-19, 17-25, 15-10) at Hiroshima's Green Arena.
Iran's Porya Yali registered 18 points and Ezequiel Palacios led Argentina with match-high 20 points.
Iran national volleyball team will play Japan on Sunday.
The 2019 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup features 12 national teams from the five continental confederations playing in Nagano, Fukuoka and Hiroshima in a round-robin format from October 1 to 15.
The Men's World Cup kicked off for five match days in Fukuoka and Nagano and the teams have moved to Hiroshima for the remaining six match days.
