IPL: Persepolis Smashes Shahin, Esteghlal Victorious over Pars Jonoubi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis and Esteghlal football teams emerged victorious over their rivals in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Persepolis defeated Shahin Bushehr 5-0 thanks to Ali Alipour’s hat-trick.
Vahid Amiri and Shoja Khalilzadeh also scored in this match.
Shahin’s player Amir Hossein Moosazadeh was sent off in the 88th minute and Persepolis midfielder Farshad Ahmadzadeh was shown red card in the injury time.
Esteghlal beat Pars Jonoubi 2-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Ali Karimi and Mehdi Ghaedi was on target in this match.
IPL leader Sepahan drew 0-0 with Saipa in Isfahan.
Tractor suffered the season’s first loss in Abadan, being defeated by Sanat Naft 2-1.
Foolad earned a late 1-0 win over Nassaji in Ahvaz.
Machine Sazi was held to a goalless draw against Naft Masjed Soleyman and Paykan beat Zob Ahan 2-1 in Tehran.
Sepahan sits top of the table with 18 points, followed by Tractor (17 points) and Shahr Khodro (16 points).
