IPL: Persepolis Moves Up to Second Place
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team defeated Foolad 1-0 and moved up to the Iran Professional League (IPL) second place.
Mehdi Torabi scored the sole goal of the match from the penalty spot just eight minutes into the match in Ahvaz’s Foolad Arena Stadium.
Persepolis is second with 19 points in the table. Sepahan, who has one game in hand, sits at the top of the table on goal difference.
On Tuesday, Esteghlal will meet Sanat Naft in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and Sepahan host Tractor in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium.
