Esteghlal Reaches Iran Professional League Points Landmark
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal became the first football team to reach 1001 points in the Iran Professional League (IPL).
The Blues defeated Tractor 4-2 in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium on Friday in IPL Matchday 9.
The Persian Gulf Pro League started in 2001 and Esteghlal has won the title three times out of 17 editions.
Persepolis is second with 943 points and Sepahan is third with 929 points.
Persepolis and Sepahan are the most-decorated teams in IPL with five titles each.
