Iran Defends Title at Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Spain 6-3 to defend its title at the 2019 Dubai Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup on Saturday.
Mostafa Kiani (penalty- 3' 00''), Saeid Piramoun (5' 42'') , Mohammad Mokhtari (18' 41''), Hamid Behzadpour (21' 58'') , Mohammad Ahmadzadeh (29' 00'') and Mohammad Masoumizadeh (32' 22'') scored for Iran beach soccer team.
Llorenç (10' 45''), Eduard (11' 37'') and Adrian (penalty- 14' 18'') scored for Spain.
The UAE also won the bronze medal after defeating Russia 2-1 in the third-place match.
Iran won the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup for the third time. Team Melli had previously claimed the title in 2013 and 2018.
The 2019 Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup was the eighth edition of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup, an annual international beach soccer tournament contested by men's national teams.
The competition was held in Dubai, the UAE between November 5 and 9.
