Pakistan’s Embassy in Tehran Observes Solidarity with Kashmir

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A ceremony was held in Pakistan’s Embassy here in the Iranian capital on Wednesday to show solidarity and support to the people in the Indian-administered Kashmir.

Iranian scholars, academicians, and members of Pakistani community and officials participated at the event to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir who were denied their right to self-determination.

During the event, messages of the president and prime minister of Pakistan were read out to the audience.

Speeches, poems, songs and dialogue were presented to highlight the history of the Kashmir issue and inhumane attitude of Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris and describe the worries, pain, hardships and suppression of Kashmiri men, women and children at the hands of Indian forces.

Referring to the recent measures taken by India against the Kashmiri people, Pakistani Charge de Affaires Seyed Muhammad Fawad Sher said that the Modi government has endangered the peace of the region and the entire world by abrogating Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which protected the identities of all the Kashmiris in India.

“The continued lockdown and crackdown against peaceful Kashmiris, including youth and children by the Indian forces is an attempt to subjugate and suppress them, but widespread protests and demonstrations are a testimony to the indigenous nature of the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people,” he said.

Fawad Sher also thanked Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian government for supporting the cause of the Kashmiri Muslims.
