Ali Daei, Iran’s Goal King: FIFA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The International Football Federation (FIFA) has congratulated former Iran forward on his 51st birthday and said the player still is the goal king.
With 109 to his name, Ali Daei - who turns 51 today – is still the highest-scoring man in the history of international football, FIFA wrote.
Daei scored his 109 goals in 143 games - a hugely-impressive average of 0.73 goals a game.
Portugal striker Ronaldo currently boasts a magnificent 99 goals in 164 international appearances for Portugal.
The 35-year-old subsequently finds himself just 10 goals behind the all-time record, set by Daei between 1993-2006.
