Death Toll from Coronavirus in Iran Rises to 3,603
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus deaths in Iran has risen to 3,603 as of Sunday from 3,452 on Saturday, the county’s Health Ministry announced.
“With 151 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 3,603. Unfortunately, we had 2,483 new cases since yesterday,” Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor said during his daily press briefing on Sunday.
He added that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 58,226.
Jahanpoor further said while 4,057 patients were in critical condition, recoveries had increased over recent days and a total of 22,011 people had left the hospital.
More than 1,203,877 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 64,787 .
