Over 97,000 Coronavirus Patients Recover in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman said the number of people who have fully recovered from the coronavirus infection in the country has surpassed 97,000.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Tuesday, Kianoosh Jahanpoor said at least 97,173 positive cases have recovered form COVID-19 across Iran so far.
He also noted that the number of people tested positive for the coronavirus across the country has risen to 124,603 following the detection of 2,111 new cases since yesterday.
According to the spokesman, 62 coronavirus patients have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 7,119.
Among those undergoing treatment in the hospital for coronavirus, 2,698 patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, he said.
He also noted that more than 716,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
Ten provinces in Iran have reported zero deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, the spokesman went on to say.
More than 4,907,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 320,000.
