Demonstrators Block Highway in US Capital during Anti-Racism Protest (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of anti-racism activists blocked a part of a five-lane highway in Washington, DC, on Monday, to voice their anger over police violence against black community.
Protesters in Washington, DC, on Monday appeared to block both sides of Interstate 395 south of the Capitol.
About 150 protesters were also seen at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the city.
They were seen carrying signs with the names of victims of police violence, including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
Demonstrations against racism and police brutality have been taking place across the world following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis on May 25.
